Sponsor Spotlight: Live Mic Music

Live Mic Music is helping to create new opportunities for artists during quarantine. This should come as no surprise, as thinking outside the box is a cornerstone of the Live Mic mindset. To put it simply, they provide the tools and guidance a musician will need to grow their brand. From à la carte services like recording, photography, and promotion to the benefits that come with officially joining the family, musicians can find as much or as little support as they need.

Founder Mike Foschino stressed that they are approaching management and promotion from a fresh perspective. “From what I've seen, most promotional companies charge hundreds to thousands of dollars, when it is so unnecessary for a starving musician to even think about spending that kind of money.” Live Mic Music guides musicians by creating promotional strategies, registering them with a Performance Rights Organization (PRO), and releasing their music.

A few of the artists we’ve featured on LIS have been working with Live Mic since the company started. Avant Gardener, an acoustic folk-rock project of Matt Miller’s, was one of Live Mic’s first featured artists. They collaborated on a photo shoot and a podcast episode as part of their cross-promotion. “All in all working with Live Mic was a good experience. I felt like I was helping to lay the foundation for something that had real potential and in return Live Mic helped promote my music, so it was a win-win,” says Matt.

The ska-punk band Dino Skatepark signed to Live Mic Records after witnessing the success of the first STATTfest—the Live Mic Music-sponsored festival that had its debut in September 2019. The genuine connections that Live Mic makes are a major draw to their business. “So far working with Live Mic has been an extremely positive experience. Their team is really supportive and great to be in contact with, helping us along the way of our next recording project.” Dino Skatepark is one of the many artists playing Stay At Home Fest, which promises to be a refreshing oasis in the middle of tense times. The band is just as gung-ho as the rest of us: “This is a really cool response making the best out of a bad scenario.”

Seriously Though, Stay at Home

Since we can’t enjoy local music together in a physical setting right now, Stay At Home Fest aims to bring the music to the people virtually. Along with The After Hours Review, Moverz, and Live Mic Music, we at LongIslandSound.love encourage you to tune in at home, or wherever you’ve been staying during this COVID quarantine. So, ya know, it’s BYOB.
