Introductions

Breadless Circus, the name of both a new band and their debut EP, is hitting the scene just in time to shake up the daily monotony of COVID quarantine. The newly founded quartet has released its debut EP of the same name to fill the void that your postponed vacation left behind.

Josh Kaplan (drums/bass), Dean Falcone (horns/vocals), Eric Perry (guitar/bass), and Josh Greenberg (guitar/keys/vocals) all found their way into music at a young age. Dean’s father worked in radio and entertainment and showed him the ropes early on. Eric’s mom, a natural drummer, passed down the performer gene. Both Joshes studied music in high school and carved out their groove throughout their teenage years. They took slightly different routes to get there, but they found themselves together as Breadless Circus.

Breadless Circus, their four-track EP released in April 2020, is a welcome escape from the stresses of quarantine. Opening track “Pour Another” is guaranteed to take up residency in your brainwaves for a while: it’s endlessly catchy, easy to hum while you’re sipping your beer, and definitely a good soundtrack for self-isolation. When last week wasn’t great and this one isn’t looking better, throw on this theme song and pour yourself a “cup of whatever”.

The band prefers to write independently and then bring their songs to the table to collaborate. Each member has their own unique writing style that starts with a snippet of an idea—be it lyrics, guitar riff, or chord progression—and builds outward from there. “All of our music starts differently but ends up being a collective effort in the end.” Breadless Circus tunes are the result of combining their eclectic musical influences with their individual life experiences.

Shows & Tours

Breadless Circus’ initial EP release party was a casualty of quarantine and is currently on “TBD” status. They played their first show together at the beloved Mr. Beery’s in Bethpage in November of 2019 as the featured act at the Thursday open mic. We look forward to future live shows where we can dance together and ‘Pour Another’ round!

The best advice we can give is that inspiration can come from anything if you are open to it. Theres a lot more to music than the surface level, really listening to the details can paint a whole new picture. Make sure you support your local music scene and check out all the other great long island bands and artists that are making amazing stuff.
