Introductions

Warm Body has been cranking out songs for your aural pleasure for a decade, and they don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Alternative meets atmospheric, this band tucks the intensity of their lyrics between moody guitar riffs. At Warm Body shows, you’ll find Ryan Foster (vocals/guitar /bass), C Philip Zarina (harmony/drums), Matthew Milligan (bass/keyboards/synths), and Rick Kattermann (guitar) on stage.

Ryan Foster dreamed up this project, applying musical and recording skills he learned in previous bands to his own songs. “The goal was not to be a solo artist but to put together songs that would be fun to play with my friends,” he explains. After ten years of creating and experimenting, he wants to push it beyond that: “Now I definitely am more interested in finding ‘my audience’. My people, so to speak.”

Each song has its own process of coming together; some are born fully-formed and others show up in dribs and drabs. The main riff in “Cold Summer” sat on the shelf for years, occasionally being toyed with until the rest of the song’s components came together. Writing music for Warm Body has shifted some with time. More recent songs have been written with the full-band experience in mind. The band’s latest single, “I.N.V.U.”, was “totally in service of that,” according to Ryan. It was one of those songs that clicked pretty much right away. The majority of the song was assembled within a day, though it received some “light restructuring” before it took its final form.

Songs & Shows

Warm Body’s latest single “I.N.V.U.” dropped on all streaming platforms on February 2, 2020. A dreamy, hypnotic, and bittersweet confection, the tune will cozy up and make itself at home in your head. Don’t blame me when you’re humming it in the shower. You can expect its B-side track, “Dead to Rights”, to be delivered on February 20, 2020!

They also released four singles in 2019: “Bad Toe”, “Baby Jesus”, “You Got It (Wrong)”, and “Kool”, which was originally released as a demo in 2017. The band continues to expand its musical range, and with that its listener reach.

Warm Body has been spotted on stage at Mr. Beery’s of Bethpage, Gold Sounds of Brooklyn, and The Footlight in Queens. Check their links below and reach out to book them for your next show!
