INTRODUCTIONS
The LeftOvers blend together soul, punk, and folk-rock, and they were formed when Josh Honigman (songwriter/vocals/guitar), Steve Roscigno (drums), and Keith Jabinsky (guitar) were in sixth grade. Over the years they went from what Josh called a "pre-pubescent punk band" to the eclectic, distilled sound you hear from them today. With additions of Nicholas Kottis (bass) and Maggie Buckley (sax), their sound has become richer, smoother, and heavier-hitting. Like whiskey. I might just be describing whiskey. They pull musical influence from folk, Americana, blues, and modern alternative with a bit of punk.
The LeftOvers have a seven-track studio album entitled Long Time Comin' available for streaming and purchase most everywhere online. After so many years making music together, this recently released first album is aptly named. The title track was turned into a fun music video filmed during some of the band members’ moving out party. The shots of friends jamming out at the party are cut with real home videos of the band skateboarding as kids. It represents their musical capabilities and huge personalities nicely.
Lately their favorite song to play has been a work in progress titled "Don't Dream". With Maggie joining quite recently, the band has been writing some new tunes and reworking many of their older songs to incorporate saxophone.
The “Long Time Comin’” video was filmed at a moving party in the band members’ old apartment. Their former bassist was unable to play for the video so you can see party guests jumping in throughout the video. One of those guests, Nick Kottis, later became The LeftOvers official bassist. The project was filmed and produced by Ray Tiburzi of Fresh Squeezed Lemonade.
TOURS & SHOWS
In the past year The LeftOvers have been featured in The Boro Magazine and The After Hour Review. The have been the featured act at Planet of Sounds Promotions' Open Mic at Portside Bar and Grill, Equilibrium Booking's Open Mic at The Velvet Lounge, and One Eyed Jack's Open Mic.
The LeftOver's favorite recent show was their album release party at Shillelagh's Tavern in Astoria. They were supported by incredibly talented friends in local bands such as Newton's Interstellar Conspiracy, Monkeybite, and MJT. It was quite a wild night with absolutely killer music.
When asked where they have toured we received the following quote from the ever-helpful Steve Roscigno: "Your Mom's house."

INSPIRATION & INFLUENCES
The band grew up listening to all kinds of punk rock music. They've seasoned that base with flavors of blues and jazz. Especially on the track "Fake A Feeling", You can really feel how eclectic they are on tracks like “Fake A Feeling” that have more than a dash of reggae vibes. When asked about guilty pleasures, Josh confessed that he saw Britney Spears in concert when he was in fourth grade.
All in all The LeftOvers are using their music to help make sense of the world and connect with their listeners.
