INTRODUCTIONS:
Emi Pellegrino has one of the most timeless voices I’ve ever heard. She’s been singing since she could speak and has a clear, powerful, and mesmerizing voice. What many don’t know is that she uses music and singing to help cope with Tourette’s syndrome. “It gets in the way of my everyday life, but music is my escape. There are no tics or twitches when I sing. If you have a disorder or disease or something that causes you pain, do what you love most; it’s the best medicine,” Emi shares. She became a certified voice teacher to understand voice better and picked up many instruments over the years to back herself. She can tackle many vocal styles and genres and has a YouTube channel filled with fantastic covers (so subscribe!). Songwriting is admittedly challenging for Emi, but she loves the songs she’s finished. The first song she ever wrote, “Happening to Me”, started when she was in a bad place emotionally. She sat down, picked four chords and just let the words come. Originally it was nearly nine minutes long, but luckily the camera was rolling. She took the footage and pulled it apart, selecting the sections she liked best and rewriting it into something more cohesive but relatable. She was singing about many topics that anyone can identify with on some level: love, family, friends, work. Emi has a song for every corner of the listener’s life.
Ms. Pellegrino has a dedicated following of over 3,000 subscribers on her Youtube account. She covers all kinds of songs, primarily singing and playing guitar but occasionally hopping on bass guitar and drums as well. Spanning all genres, her video collection includes covers of artists such as Linkin Park, Lady Gaga, Faith Hill, The Beatles, and Dropkick Murphys. She is often found recording in her church to catch the fantastic acoustics.
TOURS & SHOWS
Emi hasn’t taken to the road yet, but she plays all over Long Island. She was nominated for “Best Singer on Long Island” in 2018 by the Best of Long Island Awards.
If you see her at a show please be careful: She’s got a tea-spilling curse. At some point someone will inevitably spill her tea all over her, or she’ll somehow manage to spill it on herself when no one else is around. Someone please provide Emi with an insulated sippy cup, thanks!

INSPIRATION & INFLUENCES
Emi says she gets the most musical influence from rock opera, and Queen specifically. She really shines in a ballad vocal style and has a very theatrical presence on stage. Her biggest support system is her family. They make nearly every show she has, and she says they’ll never stop pushing her to be her best. She gushes, “I love them more than anything.” She also wanted to shout out to Jenn and Luke, “the loves of my life! My favorite people, and my best friends.”
“The music industry is hard and it’s rough and it only gets harder and harder. Don’t give up. Keep going. I know real life gets in the way sometimes, but always try to set aside some time for your music. It’s what makes you the happiest, don’t forget that!”
